Today we pruned the hedge at the BG center. Used both manual and petrol hedge trimmers. Weather was very nice fine and warm.

Put up scaffold
Practise using hand shears, then on a ladder.
Practise using powered shears on ground and scaffold.
Tidy up rake up. Cost of $20 per trailer load to dump.

 Techniques used: try to cut with fatter hedge at the bottom bit narrower at the top. Dont cut into hollows too much to alow it to grow even with rest. Dont cut back to hard wood or it wont regenerate (with conifers like this, Macrocarpa cupresses). Use a scaffold if available as much safer.
